What does it mean to be credible?

Well, that depends a great deal who you ask and for what purpose. When the term credibility is brought up, generally, there are some other words that also come to mind. Reputation, trust, integrity and risk just to name a few. There are different forms of credibility. There is institutional, social, consumer driven, businesses too have their own systems for evaluating risk. Some of these are explicit, like your FICO, Paydex score or Page Rank and others are more implicit, like the first impression your website makes or the way you present yourself in a business meeting.

Most are interested in maintaining a high level or credibility and are severely and almost intrinsically concerned with their reputation.
